At Avalon Malibu, we have a variety of different treatment options at our facility. We understand that everyone’s recovery journey is unique, so we provide multiple different options that individuals can use to ensure they’re on the right treatment path and receiving services that make sense for their situation. In this blog, we’re going to discuss The Cottage House, which is our inpatient facility for individuals who are in recovery.
Understanding The Cottage House
We have a few different options at Avalon Malibu for individuals who are in recovery. One of our most popular options is The Cottage House. This is a good choice for individuals who want a supportive, welcoming environment where they can begin their recovery and work with a staff that is dedicated to their success.
During someone’s time at The Cottage House, they’ll be able to work with their specialized treatment team. Their treatment team can provide them with guidance and support so that they have the tools they need to succeed in recovery. We understand that it can be overwhelming to begin residential treatment, which is why we’ve created an environment where individuals can feel seen and heard, as well as be more comfortable than alternative options would make them.
Coping With Triggers
One of the biggest benefits of residential treatment is that there are fewer triggers than you would typically encounter in other environments. For example, you won’t be in social situations where alcohol is involved.
When it comes to coping with triggers at The Cottage House, our staff will be there to provide you with support. You’ll also most likely be working with a therapist who can provide you with guidance and coping skills that you can use when you’re feeling triggered. Speaking with your therapist and being honest about the things that might trigger you is important, so don’t be afraid to be transparent about the triggers you have and how they affect you.
