Corinne Barthell, LMFT, CSAT - Primary Therapist
Corinne Barthell is an experienced mental health professional with positive outcomes in the treatment of dual diagnosis, including but not limited to addictions, trauma, behavioral, and mood disorders. Corinne uses a range of treatment modalities that are tailored to fit the client’s needs. This includes solution-focused, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based therapies. She utilizes her experience in psycho-dynamic and existential therapies, and offers EMDR as adjunctive therapy when appropriate.
Corinne was born and raised in Michigan and moved to the Los Angeles area to pursue her career as a Script Supervisor in the film industry. After several years of making movies, she decided to change careers. She became certified as a chemical dependence counselor and began working in the field of recovery while attending Antioch University where she attained her MA in Psychology. After becoming licensed as an LMFT in 2010, she completed the Sharpiro-based EMDR training and later became certified as a sex addiction therapist (CSAT).
Corinne lives in Malibu where it is convenient to hike in the mountains and take her dogs, Lula and Sam, for daily walks on the beach. She also attends Yoga several times a week and loves to work in her garden.
