Rachel Gerny is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in mental health and substance abuse related concerns. She received a B.A. from Simmons College, an M.A. in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. She received specialty training in Post Modern therapies including Solution Focused and Narrative. She facilitates groups in Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodrama, and Trauma Resilience, integrating evidence-based methods, including DBT and Somatic Trauma-Informed therapies such as EMDR and the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) to address a wide range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, communication issues, career growth and past/present trauma. She works with clients from all walks of life who face obstacles preventing them from living their best life. She creates safe therapeutic relationships in which clients can share their stories and challenges and learn new solution-focused tools to enhance well-being. Together, they identify tools to help navigate forward to improve their overall sense of well-being and optimism. This allows clients to supportively implement new solution-based options and changes.
