Dr. Benjamin Shapiro

Dr. Benjamin Shapiro - Triple Board-Certified Psychiatrist
Dr. Benjamin Shapiro studied Neurobiology at Cornell University and completed his training in Medicine, Public Health, Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry at UCLA. He is board certified in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine, and is certified by the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. He brings extensive experience treating complex mental health conditions, including trauma, characterological challenges, cognitive disorders, mood and psychotic disorders, and eating disorders. Formerly an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Shapiro has trained medical students, residents, fellows, nursing staff, and mid-career physicians across medical schools and residency and fellowship programs in Medicine and Psychiatry throughout Los Angeles. He has served as Clinical and Medical Director for multiple eating disorder programs, has contributed chapters to Andrew Weil’s Integrated Addiction and Recovery and the Oxford Textbook of Geriatrics, and remains active in psychedelic research at UCLA.
