Marissa Bennett - Primary Therapist
Marissa Bennett is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in Co-Occurring disorders, treating clients who are struggling with both Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. Ms. Bennet has specialized in Co-Occurring Disorders for the past six years and is dedicated to helping clients and their families by providing empathetic and compassionate care. Marissa has had extensive experience counseling a diverse group of individuals, couples and families. Marissa has had the privilege of guiding clients to discover their own strengths, many coming to recognize their own resilience and feeling empowered to begin the journey towards change, growth and healing.
Behavior is learned and Marissa wholeheartedly believes that behavior can also be unlearned, she feels it is critical to help her clients realize that new behaviors can help them heal and perhaps change the trajectory of their lives. Ms. Bennett received her Masters Degree in Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and a concentration in Co-Occurring Disorders from Phillips Graduate University. Marissa has had the opportunity to work in Detox, Residential, Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs with both adolescents and adults since beginning her practice as an MFT Trainee. Appreciation of the client and their unique experiences and challenges informs Marissa’s professional approach. Ms. Bennett is passionate about her work and brings a dynamic energy coupled with a direct yet calm approach to her practice.
