Margot Chambers, L.Ac. - Acupuncture and Holistic Medicine
I am proud to say that I am a product of holistic medicine, and grew up seeing first hand how wonderful natural medicine can be. I was raised under the medical care of a homeopath since I was very young, and can say that for years of my life I had never been to see a conventional medical doctor. This experience helped shape the way I see the process of health and healing.
I began my studies of human behavior at UC Santa Cruz where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Political Science. From there, I strapped on a backpack and took off to explore the world. My travels took me to Thailand, Indonesia, New Zealand and Laos. It was during this period of soul-searching that I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping others.
That drive to serve is what ultimately drew me to pursue a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I received my Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yo San University in Los Angeles, California and went on to obtain my acupuncture license from the California State Board of Acupuncture.
In 2007 and 2008 I worked as an acupuncturist in the Pain Management Department at the Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center. Through my work at this clinic I gained a real passion for helping relieve the pain of others. I also found that working alongside medical doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors and psychologists in an integrative setting was both highly educational and of tremendous value to patient care.
In 2010 I began my work in substance abuse and mental health at numerous treatment centers in Los Angeles and Malibu. In the past 8 years I have developed a real passion for helping people move through physical and emotional imbalances and barriers associated with mental health and recovery.
I utilize the skills I have attained over the course of my career, in pain management, internal medicine and substance abuse recovery, to create individual treatment plans for my patients. I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful medicine and am so thankful to be able to help others.
