To counter involvement in any negative behaviors outside of treatment, we offer relapse prevention therapy (RPT) at Avalon Malibu as part of your individual recovery program. RPT is designed to help you anticipate the possibility of relapse by helping you recognize high-risk situations and develop unique coping strategies that address your urge to use drugs or alcohol. Our counselors utilize RPT as a behavioral self-control program during recovery or in an aftercare program specialized for your transition out of treatment, which, in both programs, can teach you a proactive approach to maintaining your sobriety.
