Peggy Gelber, RADT-I - Client Care Supervisor

Early in her own recovery, Peggy noticed a sign at a meeting that said, “Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help others achieve sobriety.” At that moment, she knew she’d just found a reason and a purpose for her life. A short while later, Peggy received her Substance Abuse and Addiction Counseling Certificate from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA. She now has been sober for 25 years and has over 23 years of experience working with individuals and groups in the field of recovery.

Peggy believes that there is much growth that still needs to be done, especially when it comes to helping those with both an addiction and a mental illness. Educationally, there’s very little training done for those who work with mental illness and chemical dependency, so it’s very exciting to her that she gets to be a part of this paradigm shift.

Peggy is from the beautiful small town of Thompson Falls, Montana, where she still visits her family regularly. Her three-year-old grandson, Wyatt, and her two boxers, Bailee and Xena, fill her life with joy and keep her on her toes. Her hope is to help her clients think about sobriety in the long-term, to have integrity with self by living honestly, staying healthy, creating their own happiness, and continually seek wisdom and self-knowledge. Overall, she wants to share her excitement and love of sobriety with all of those around her and help make their lives a happy place to be.
